Bruce Sports cards collectibles shop opens in Stevensville

Bruce Hutson recently opened Bruce Sports Cards Collectibles and Pro Wrestling Museum at 4150 N. Roosevelt Road in Stevensville.
“I got tired of walking into sports card shops where the prices were so high that little kids weren’t able to get anything,” Hutson said. “So I made almost everything in my store priced so that a 10-year-old kid can buy something and take it home.”
Hutson said his main goal isn’t to make money, but rather to remove the financial barriers in sports card collecting for kids.
While a majority of the cards and collectibles inside Hutson’s shop are under $5, there are still a few big ticket items.
“I do have some signed pictures and stuff like that,” he said. “Like right here is a signed picture of Don Larsen’s perfect game for $200.”
However, not everything inside the store is even for sale. Almost every inch of the walls are covered in wrestling memorabilia or signed wrestling photos – hence the second half of the store’s name.
“I wanted a place where I could show people what wrestling was all about. There is a lot of history to pro wrestling and I wanted a place to honor that,” he said. “It’s not all WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), it’s also the independent wrestlers.”
Hutson said he was able to get so many signed photos by not only attending wrestling matches, but also participating in them. And like a museum, every piece of memorabilia has a story.
Bruce Sports Cards Collectibles and Pro Wrestling Museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
“It’s only a 300-square-foot space. It’s a small shop, but I’ve got a big heart for it,” Hutson said. “And I’ve got an even bigger heart for getting kids involved in collecting sports cards.”
